In 2013, as an extension of this dynamic, the city of Tours was honored with the "Cité de la gastronomie" label, allowing it to develop the Villa Rabelais project, Maison des cultures Gastronomiques, which it mandates with the University of Tours, to pilot this cultural and scientific center dedicated to gastronomy. The Villa Rabelais now houses a documentation center unique in Europe dedicated to Food Studies with a collection of more than 10,000 works. Alongside it, a gourmet library forms a cultural and entertainment space around the gastronomic book.

S’attachant à diffuser cette culture scientifique auprès d’une large audience, l’IEHCA œuvre à la reconnaissance des savoirs et savoir-faire culinaires en tant que patrimoine culturel.
