AIT | DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE CHANGE
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change (EECC) is a newly formed department at AIT after academic administrative structural change in 2016. The formerly ‘Field of Study’ have been combined under the new departments to efficiently pool all administrative workloads from the field level to ‘departmental’ level, freeing faculty members with more time for teaching and research.
EECC is focusing its research on solving some of the pressing problems in the world of energy access, climate change mitigation and adaption, energy efficiency, wastewater treatment and disposal systems, air pollution engineering and management, waste minimization and life cycle assessment, environmental impact assessment, water infrastructure/asset planning, financing and management.
The faculty at EECC includes renowned academics with extensive experience in industry and research. The primary focus of the faculty is not only to equip the students with problem solving and analytical skills but also to enhance ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking for their life after AIT as leaders.
