BIOMAE, filiale du groupe CARSO, propose les premiers outils de mesures et de suivi de la qualité des milieux aquatiques à partir de marqueurs d'effets sur un invertébré polluosensible transplanté directement dans le milieu.
Ces bioessais sur gammares (crevette d’eau douce), issus de 10 années de recherche IRSTEA (laboratoire d'écotoxicologie de Lyon-Villeurbanne) permettent d’analyser la biodisponibilité des contaminants et le degré de toxicité, directement dans le milieu.
Les gestionnaires publics (Agences de l'eau, Agglomérations, Métropoles, Syndicats de rivière, etc.) sont les premiers utilisateurs de ces outils de surveillance dans le biote (DCE d'août 2013 / arrêté ministériel du 7 août 2015 établissant le programme de surveillance de l’état des eaux).
