    Savoie Déchets is a mixed waste treatment union, whose main skills are:
    - the treatment of household and similar waste with energy recovery,
    - sorting and recovery of selective collections with recovery of materials,
    - the treatment and recovery of bio-waste into compost.

    Savoie Déchets manages the Energy Recovery and Waste Treatment Unit (UVETD). This industrial equipment, based in Chambéry, processes non-recyclable waste and sludge from wastewater treatment plants by incineration and thus allows the production of thermal energy, for urban heating, and electricity.
    The Joint Union also manages the sorting of selective collections from member communities. This waste is received at the Chambéry sorting center, sorted, conditioned, then sent to recycling channels where it will be recovered.
    Since 2022, Savoie Déchets has been supporting its members in the implementation of bio-waste treatment solutions, in accordance with the AGEC law providing for the generalization of their sorting at source on January 1, 2024. Three bio-waste treatment units are already in operation in Champlat (Grand Chambéry and Grand Lac), in Valezan (Tarentaise) and in Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis (Maurienne).

    Savoie Déchets est un Syndicat mixte de traitement des déchets, dont les compétences principales sont :
    - le traitement des déchets ménagers et assimilés avec valorisation énergétique,
    - le tri et la valorisation des collectes sélectives avec valorisation de matières,
    - le traitement et la valorisation des biodéchets en compost.

    Savoie Déchets assure la gestion de l’Unité de Valorisation Énergétique et de Traitement des Déchets (UVETD). Cet équipement industriel, basé à Chambéry, traite les déchets non recyclables et les boues de stations d’épuration par incinération et permet ainsi la production d'énergie thermique, pour le chauffage d'urbain, et d'électricité.
    Le Syndicat mixte gère également le tri des collectes sélectives des collectivités adhérentes. Ces déchets sont réceptionnés au Centre de tri de Chambéry, triés, conditionnés, puis dirigés vers des filières de recyclage où ils seront valorisés.
    Depuis 2022, Savoie Déchets accompagne ses adhérents dans la mise en place de solutions de traitement des biodéchets, conformément à la loi AGEC prévoyant la généralisation de leur tri à la source au 1er janvier 2024. Trois unités de traitement des biodéchets sont déjà en fonctionnement à Champlat (Grand Chambéry et Grand Lac), à Valezan (Tarentaise) et à Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis (Maurienne).
