Description
  • Value proposition

IrBEA is the association representing the bioenergy industry on the island of Ireland. Our diverse membership includes: farmers and foresters, fuel suppliers, energy development companies, equipment
manufacturers and suppliers, engineers, financiers and tax advisers, legal firms, consultants, planners, research organisations, local authorities, education and advisory bodies – anyone with an interest in the bioenergy industry. Governance and strategic oversight is provided by our CEO and Management Committee, with operational support from an Executive Team.

    What we do:

    Influence and Develop
IrBEA is called on by government to contribute analysis, policy ideas and regulatory detail to develop sustainable bioenergy markets. Our special interest Groups (e.g. RHI, REFIT, Energy Crops, , Wood Fuels, and Biogas) examine and address key sector issues. The proposals on RHI and the Energy White Paper are two recent submission examples (www.irbea.org ). IrBEA administers the Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme – an industry quality standard. Our Executive Team provides expert support on consultations and other initiatives (e.g. animal by-products regulations). Outsourced consultancy is used to complement internal resources.

    Network
We provide numerous opportunities to network with other sector players through IrBEA groups, annual conference, workshops, study tours, other special events and through digital
    platforms.

    Information and Knowledge
Information and knowledge are keys to good decision making and for getting ahead in business. Through our weekly e-bulletin, monthly e-newsletter, social media and other digital alerts, plus member meetings we inform about market measures, consultations, trends and predictions, business opportunities, events, studies and other resources.

    Member Discounts
IrBEA members can benefit from discounts including attendance at technical and networking events, use of promotional material and listings in Members Directory and Yearbook.
