The Laboratory of Civil Engineering and Geoenvironment (LGCGE) is a multidisciplinary research laboratory in Nord-Pas de Calais bringing together teams of researchers from several establishments in the Hauts-de-France region. The laboratory offers multidisciplinary research to meet the challenges of sustainable construction, development and ecology. It thus responds to the problems posed by construction, sustainable development, safety of works and infrastructure, rational energy management, protection of natural resources (in particular water resources), management of contaminated sites and biodiversity.
By carrying out a research and monitoring activity in partnership with the socio-economic sector (competitiveness and excellent centers, companies, engineering offices, infrastructure and heritage managers, communities, etc.), the laboratory contributes to the transfer of research results and technological innovation. It puts the expertise of its members, its scientific equipment and its technological platforms (characterization of geomaterials, habitat instrumentation, geochemical and biological analysis) at the service of socio-economic actors.

Le Laboratoire de Génie Civil et géoEnvironnement (LGCgE) est un laboratoire de recherche pluridisciplinaires en Nord-Pas de Calais regroupant des équipes de chercheurs de plusieurs établissements de la région Hauts-de-France. L’activité de recherche et de valorisation est assurée par près de 180 personnes, dont 69 enseignants-chercheurs et chercheurs, 27 personnels techniques et administratifs et 81 doctorants.

Le laboratoire propose des recherches pluridisciplinaires pour répondre aux défis de la construction durable, l'aménagement et l'écologie. Il répond ainsi aux problématiques posées par la construction, l’aménagement durable, la sécurité des ouvrages et des infrastructures, la gestion rationnelle de l’énergie, la protection des ressources naturelles (notamment les ressources d’eau), la gestion des sites contaminés et la biodiversité.
En menant une activité de recherche et de veille en partenariat avec le secteur socio-économique (pôles de compétitivités et d’excellences, entreprises, bureaux d’ingénierie, gestionnaires des infrastructures et de patrimoines, collectivités,..), le laboratoire contribue au transfert des résultats de la recherche et à l’innovation technologique. Il met l’expertise de ses membres, son équipement scientifique et ses plateformes technologiques (caractérisation des géomatériaux, instrumentation de l’habitat, analyse géochimique et biologique) au service des acteurs socio-économiques.
