The AFPG, French Association of Geothermal Professionals, was created on June 15, 2010 in Paris. In 2024, the AFPG will have more than 130 members, representing the different geothermal energy professions in mainland France and the overseas territories: drillers, manufacturers and installers of heat pumps, heat network managers, geoscience and thermal design offices, universities and research organizations, associations and unions, energy companies, investors, etc.

These missions are divided into the following themes:
- Represent and unite professionals in the sector in mainland France and the overseas territories.
- Inform communities, industrialists and individuals of the resources and diversity of the geothermal offer.
- Support public authorities in matters of regulation, legislation and certification.
- Promote geothermal professions.
- Structuring and promoting the French geothermal sector for export.

Association française des professionnels de la géothermie
L’AFPG, Association française des professionnels de la géothermie, a été créée le 15 juin 2010 à Paris. L’AFPG compte en 2024, plus de 130 membres, représentatifs des différents métiers de l’énergie géothermique en France métropolitaine et dans les DROM : foreurs, fabricants et installateurs de pompes à chaleur, gestionnaires de réseaux de chaleur, bureaux d’études en géosciences et thermiques, universités et organismes de recherche, associations et syndicats, énergéticiens, investisseurs, etc...
Elle est organisée en 2 principales filières :
- Géothermie de surface
- Géothermie profonde
L’AFPG est l’organisation qui fédère et représente les professionnels français de la géothermie. Elle contribue également à la promotion de cette énergie renouvelable, locale et faiblement émettrice de CO2, comme outil de souveraineté énergétique et solution de lutte contre le dérèglement climatique et d’adaptation à ses conséquences.
Ces missions se déclinent selon les thématiques suivantes :
- Représenter et fédérer les professionnels de la filière en France métropolitaine et dans les DROM.
- Informer les collectivités, les industriels et les particuliers des ressources et de la diversité de l’offre géothermique.
- Accompagner les pouvoirs publics en matière de réglementation, de législation et de certification.
- Faire la promotion des métiers de la géothermie.
- Structurer et faire la promotion de la filière française géothermie à l’export.
