Créé il y a plus de 130 ans, le Leem compte aujourd’hui près de 270 entreprises adhérentes, qui réalisent près de 98 % du chiffre d’affaires total du médicament en France. Le rôle du Leem consiste à faciliter les échanges entre ses membres, à défendre leurs intérêts collectifs et à resserrer les liens avec les autres professions de santé.
Parmi les missions du Leem, figure l’élaboration et le respect de la déontologie des pratiques professionnelles de l’industrie pharmaceutique. Elle s’assure donc du bon respect des règles d’éthique de la profession et de la conformité des entreprises du médicament aux dispositions des codes de bonne conduite.
