Der Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V. ist der Fachverband für alle Windenergiethemen und ein basisdemokratischer Verein mit einer breit gefächerten Landesstruktur: 13 Landesverbände, 8 Landesgeschäftsstellen, 42 Regionalverbände und eine Bundesgeschäftsstelle in Berlin mit Kontakten nach Brüssel und ins europäische Ausland bilden im BWE ein starkes Netzwerk. Dank seiner haupt- und ehrenamtlichen Strukturen bietet der BWE fachlich versierte Ansprechpartner in fast allen Regionen Deutschlands. Sie alle stehen hinter der Energiewende und setzen sich für eine klimafreundliche Energieerzeugung in Deutschland ein.
Wichtigstes Organ des BWE ist seine jährliche Delegiertenversammlung, auf der die entsandten Delegierten aus Unternehmen und Regionen gemeinsam über die wegweisenden Entwicklungen des BWE diskutieren und bestimmen. Sie wählen alle zwei Jahre den Bundesvorstand, der die Geschicke des BWE im engen Austausch mit der Geschäftsführung lenkt und strategische Leitlinien entwickelt.
Sein Fachwissen bezieht der BWE aus den Fachgremien und Abteilungen der Geschäftsstellen. 14 Beiräte und 8 Arbeitskreise zu allen relevanten Themen der Windbranche liefern den fachlichen Input direkt aus und zusammen mit der Branche. Ihre fundierte Arbeit ist die Grundlage für Positionen und Publikationen. Über 20.000 Mitglieder profitieren so von einem fachlichen Kompetenznetzwerk.
