The Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 5270) involving the CNRS, ECL, INSA, Université Lyon and CPE Lyon.
The goal of INL is to encourage world-leading multidisciplinary research in the areas of micro and nanotechnologies and their applications. The pioneering research undertaken at the Institute ranges from materials and technology to devices and systems, thus enabling the emergence of dedicated technologies. The Institute is supported in its work by the NanoLyon Technology Platform.
The application areas cover major economic sectors: semiconductor industry, information technologies, healthcare and wellbeing, energy and the environment.

L'Institut des Nanotechnologies de Lyon est une Unité Mixe de Recherche (UMR5270) du CNRS associée à l'ECL, l'INSA Lyon, l'Université Lyon et CPE Lyon.
L'objectif de l'INL est d'encourager et de porter une recherche multidisciplinaire de niveau mondial dans les domaines des Micro et Nanotechnologies et de leurs applications. La recherche de pointe menée à l'institut s'étend de l'étude des matériaux, des phénomènes et des technologies jusqu'aux applications composants et systèmes, permettant ainsi l'émergence de technologies dédiées. L'institut est appuyée dans son travail par la plateforme de technologie NanoLyon.
Les domaines d'applications couvrent la majeure partie des secteurs économiques : l'industrie des semi-conducteurs, les technologies de l'information, la santé et le bien être, l'énergie et l’environnement.
