Inscrites dans la loi du 31 juillet 2014, les CRESS sont des structures représentatives et transversales qui ont vocation à réunir les acteurs de l’économie sociale et solidaire de leur région : les associations, les coopératives, les fondations d'entreprise, les mutuelles, les syndicats employeurs de l’économie sociale et dans la plupart des régions, les réseaux d'économie solidaire et de développement local.
La CRESS de Mayotte assure au plan local la promotion et le développement de l’économie sociale et solidaire. Jouissant de plein droit de la capacité des associations reconnues d’utilité publique, elle conclut une convention d’agrément avec le représentant de l’État (Préfet) et le Conseil Régional. Elle est constituée des entreprises de l’ESS et des organisations présentes sur le territoire régional mahorais.
Outil mutualisé à destination des entreprises de l’ESS, la CRESS de Mayotte accompagne le développement des entreprises de l’ESS et des filières à travers :
- La représentation auprès des pouvoirs publics des intérêts de l’économie sociale et solidaire ;
- L’ appui à la création, au développement et au maintien des entreprises ;
- L’ appui à la formation des dirigeants et des salariés des entreprises ;
- La contribution à la collecte, à l’exploitation et à la mise à disposition des données économiques et sociales relatives aux entreprises de l’ESS ;
- L’information des entreprises sur la dimension européenne de l’ESS et l’appui à l’établissement de liens avec les entreprises établies dans les autres États membres de l’Union européenne.
