The Ikambere association, founded in 1997 by Bernadette Rwegera, supports women living in precarious situations and with a chronic illness (HIV, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure) towards autonomy and empowerment.
Thanks to our multidisciplinary team, we offer holistic support, co-constructed with women, which helps combat health, economic and social inequalities.
We support more than 600 women per year in our various centers in Ile-de-France.
In order to share its expertise throughout the territory, Ikambere also offers training to medical and social professionals on the combined issues of precariousness and HIV and the sexual health of migrant women.
We also carry out prevention and awareness-raising actions with the general public, including TRODs and information sessions in accommodation centres.

IKAMBERE relève depuis 1997 des femmes vivant à la fois en situation de précarité et avec une maladie chronique.
L’association Ikambere, fondée en 1997 par Bernadette Rwegera, accompagne des femmes vivant à la fois en situation de précarité et avec une maladie chronique (VIH, diabète, obésité, hypertension artérielle) vers l’autonomie et l'empowerment.
Grâce à notre équipe pluridisciplinaire, nous proposons un accompagnement holistique, co-construit avec les femmes, qui permet de lutter à la fois contre les inégalités sanitaires, économiques et sociales.
Nous accompagnons dans nos différents centres d’Ile-de-France plus de 600 femmes par an.
Afin de partager son expertise sur l’ensemble du territoire, Ikambere propose également des formations aux professionnels médico-sociaux portant sur les enjeux combinés de la précarité et du VIH et la santé sexuelle des femmes migrantes.
Nous menons également des actions de prévention et de sensibilisation auprès du grand public dont des TROD et des séances d’information dans des centres d’hébergement.
