Value proposition

The project World like Home saw the lights of the day due to the personal experiences of some foreign students in Le Mans, having faced a couple of difficulties on their arrival in a foreign country. On his arrival in France, one of ours misplaced his passport without knowing exactly how it happened. The main reason highlighted being the stress in traveling alone and the anxiety in a new environment.

The defining and triggering element for World like Home is actually the help that the coordinator of World like Home rendered to a foreign student from Colombia who had just arrived in France. The student in question came to continue his studies in economics and finance in France. Having neither family nor friends in France, and with a poor mastery of the local language, he could not find his way to his hostel and campus even though the university had sent him all the necessary procedures via mail. Moving along with his luggage all this time only made his initial experience worse. He then solicited the help of Andrew, the project coordinator, who happened to also be a foreign student and had a similar experience on the day he arrived. After helping him with all the basic formalities, the coordinator immediately remembered his own days, and the first question that came to his mind was: 'how many students suffer like this every blessed day and what can we do to help?'
