The Promosalons association was born in 1967, on the initiative:
- from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP)
- from the French Center for Foreign Trade (CFCE)
- of the French Federation of Specialized Fallors (FFSS become FSCEF)

L’association Promosalons est née en 1967, à l’initiative :
- de la Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris (CCIP)
- du Centre français du commerce extérieur (CFCE)
- de la Fédération française des salons spécialisés (FFSS devenue FSCEF)
L’objectif était de mettre en commun les moyens et les compétences des différents acteurs du secteur pour développer l’internationalisation des salons français. Parmi les tous premiers adhérents figuraient notamment l’Aéronautique, Batimat, le Sial et le Sima.
Les premiers bureaux furent créés en Allemagne, en Espagne, en Grande-Bretagne, en Italie, en Suède et aux Etats-Unis. Aujourd’hui, 80 salons font appel à Promosalons, dont le réseau couvre plus de 120 pays sur les cinq continents.
Ses activités continuent de se diversifier : il assure désormais la promotion de grandes foires internationales et de lieux d’exposition.
