The Internet of Things (IoT) is widely recognised to have lots of potential, but its commercial potential is being held back by fragmentation. A sensor on its own has limited value, but there are huge opportunities for open markets of services that combine sensors, actuators and multiple sources of information. The Web of Things seeks to counter the fragmentation of the IoT, making it much easier to create applications without the need to master the disparate variety of IoT technologies and standards. Digital twins for sensors, actuators and information services are exposed to consuming applications as local software objects with properties, actions and events, independently of the physical location of devices or the protocols used to access them. Says the W3C Web of Things group.
At Orisun we've taken things a step further and achieved Time independance of the digital twins in addition to location and protocole independance. This way, any Digital Twin will keep it's history even through sensor and actuator decommissionning and replacement, maintenance or generalized retrofitting.

La plateforme Orisun-IoT permet à tous les capteurs IoT de fonctionner de concert, aujourd'hui et pour toujours, ce qui donne une mine de données très riches que vous pouvez exploiter à l'infini pour toutes vos applications commerciales basées sur des données. L'objectif est de libérer la valeur des objets interopérables et de réaliser des économies importantes en exploitant les capteurs et les solutions IoT.
L'internet des objets (IdO) est largement reconnu comme ayant un grand potentiel, mais son potentiel commercial est freiné par la fragmentation. Un capteur en soi a une valeur limitée, mais il existe d'énormes possibilités de marchés de services ouverts qui combinent des capteurs, des actionneurs et de multiples sources d'information. Le Web des choses cherche à contrer la fragmentation de l'IdO, en facilitant la création d'applications sans qu'il soit nécessaire de maîtriser la variété disparate des technologies et des normes de l'IdO. Les jumeaux numériques pour les capteurs, les actionneurs et les services d'information sont exposés à la consommation d'applications en tant qu'objets logiciels locaux avec des propriétés, des actions et des événements, indépendamment de l'emplacement physique des dispositifs ou des protocoles utilisés pour y accéder. C'est ce qu'affirme le groupe "Web of Things" du W3C.
À Orisun, nous faisons un pas de plus et nous parvenons à l'indépendance temporelle des jumeaux numériques, en plus de l'indépendance de la localisation et des protocoles. Ainsi, tout jumeau digital conservera son historique, même en cas de mise hors service et de remplacement de capteurs et d'actionneurs, de maintenance ou de modernisation généralisée.
