Founded in 1958, ESIEA is an engineering school managed in associative form. She graduated around 150 engineers per year, on two campuses (Paris and Laval).
The course can be followed under student status or, since 2009, by apprenticeship. The school diploma also 40 holders of specialized securities labeled by the Conference of Grandes Ecoles each year.
ESIEA forms engineers in the fields of digital sciences and technologies. It articulates its specific positioning around two thematic axes:
• Information systems (SI), both in their design, realization or exploitation aspects;
• Embedded systems (SE), that is to say the autonomous digital systems located within equipment or objects not having a purely computer vocation.
ESIEA is empowered by the Engineer Security Commission, recognized by the State and accredited to EUR-ACE. She is a member of the Conference of Grandes écoles (CGE) and the Union of independent schools (UGEI).

Le cursus peut être suivi sous statut étudiant ou, depuis 2009, par apprentissage. L’école diplôme par ailleurs chaque année 40 titulaires de titres spécialisés labellisés par la Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.
L’ESIEA forme des ingénieurs dans les domaines des sciences et technologies du numérique. Elle articule son positionnement spécifique autour de deux axes thématiques :
• Les Systèmes d’Information (SI), tant dans leurs aspects de conception, de réalisation ou d’exploitation ;
• Les Systèmes Embarqués (SE), c'est-à-dire les systèmes numériques autonomes se trouvant à l'intérieur d’équipements ou d’objets n'ayant pas une vocation purement informatique.
L’ESIEA est habilitée par la Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur, reconnue par l’état et accréditée EUR-ACE. Elle est membre de la Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE) et de l’Union des Grandes Écoles Indépendantes (UGEI).
