In the past seven years we have built up a community with thousands of volunteers in Germany. We support Labs, i.e. regional groups, in over 26 cities, organize conferences and hackathons and bring representatives from politics and civil society together.

Wir setzen uns für offenes Wissen und demokratische Teilhabe ein. Dafür entwickeln wir Technologien und Instrumente und stärken so die Zivilgesellschaft!
Wir zeigen das demokratische Potenzial von Technologie:
Digital vernetzte Technologien bringen neue Möglichkeiten, um zivilgesellschaftliche Interessen umzusetzen: Bürger*innen können ihre Rechte und Pflichten einfacher wahrnehmen und sich besser über staatliches Handeln informieren. So wird der faktenbasierte politischer Diskurs unterstützt.
Dafür entwickeln wir Software, stellen Infrastruktur bereit und fördern Open-Source-Projekte. Wir experimentieren und bieten ein Experimentierfeld für andere.
Wir setzen uns für offenes Wissen ein:
Offenes Wissen ist in einem demokratischen Staat Voraussetzung jeder Mitbestimmung, darum streben wir nach einer Welt, in der Wissen online wie offline frei verfügbar ist. Das bedeutet, dass wir Wissen nicht nur nutzen, sondern auch teilen, weiterentwickeln und verändern dürfen. Wir stärken damit eine Gemeinschaft, an der alle partizipieren können.
Wir stärken die digitale Mündigkeit und den ethischen Umgang mit Technologie:
Wir wollen unser Wissen weitergeben. Denn nur wer Technologie versteht, kann sie mitgestalten. Daher geben wir Workshops zu den unterschiedlichsten Themen wie Data Literacy, Open Data oder Offene Bildung und entwickeln zudem eigene Bildungsformate.
Wir vernetzen Menschen, die an Projekten für eine offene und gerechte Gesellschaft arbeiten:
In den vergangenen sieben Jahren haben wir in Deutschland eine Community mit Tausenden ehrenamtlich Engagierten aufgebaut. Wir unterstützen Labs, d.h. Regionalgruppen, in über 26 Städten, organisieren Konferenzen und Hackathons und bringen Vertreter*innen aus Politik und der Zivilgesellschaft zusammen.
