As we play our part in enabling the energy transition for a more sustainable world, remanufacturing engines help us to reduce material waste and extend the lifetime of our components.
Around 1,500 engines and systems are overhauled, repaired or go through our Rolls-Royce Reman centres every year, including mtu PowerPacks for railcars and mtu Series 2000 and 4000 engines used in trains or gensets.

The story of the world’s most successful aero engine family goes back 30 years.
Since the very first Trent 700 entered into service in 1995, it has paved the way for a family of engines, transporting a total of 3.5 billion people. Our seventh and latest generation Trent engine – the Trent 7000 – has benefited from three decades of continuous improvement to radically enhance fuel efficiency and noise.
But to understand the evolution of this iconic and enduring technology, we have to look at the world-class engineers who designed and built it.
Paul Sixsmith is Chief Engineer on the Trent 700 and Trent 7000. With a career with Rolls-Royce nearly as old as the Trent family itself.
