In a society where digital technology is omnipresent, mastering and understanding the tools becomes a real challenge to create the conditions for active digital citizenship.
The digital divide is almost no longer a question of access today, in the age of smartphones and everything connected. It is more a question of use. And the lack of mastery of digital tools and languages tends to increase, on a daily basis, social inequalities and vulnerability.
This is why Libraries Without Borders has been running a program since 2014 to support socio-cultural mediators and volunteers in setting up introductory workshops on digital practices.

Les voyageurs du Numérique est un projet de l'association Bibliothèques sans frontières.
Dans une société où le numérique est omniprésent, la maîtrise et la compréhension des outils devient un véritable enjeu pour créer les conditions d’une citoyenneté numérique active.
La fracture numérique n’est quasiment plus une question d’accès aujourd’hui, à l’heure des smartphones et du tout connecté. Il s’agit davantage d’une question d’usage. Et le manque de maîtrise des outils et des langues du numérique tend à augmenter, au quotidien, les inégalités sociales et la vulnérabilité.
C’est pourquoi Bibliothèques Sans Frontières mène depuis 2014 un programme visant à accompagner les médiateurs socio-culturels et des bénévoles dans la mise en place d’ateliers d’initiation aux pratiques numériques.
Les Voyageurs Du Numérique c'est une communauté qui sensibilise et les fait réfléchir chacun à ses pratiques des outils numériques, par la réalisation de projets ludiques et créatifs.
