    Radio Grenouille: Marseille’s cultural radio station

    There are a thousand ways of defining Grenouille’s project : a free media, a variety of urban musics and cultures, sound creations, radio workshops, events in the city, a long-legged webfooted amphibian fit to jump, fit to swim and that can cope with extreme conditions...

    But, on the radio, it’s up to you to see. It’s up to you to imagine, to decide, if the tracks we offer thanks to sounds, music and speech can draw new perspectives, open new horizons and invent possible worlds.
    And may be, so much the better if all that still leaves to be desired.

    The ways of listening, connected and disconnected, constructive counterpoints and necessary inversions, crossed ap- proaches and know-how, Marseille’s «geophony», as well as the links grown with the artists and the inhabitants since 1981, remain at the heart of our work.

    What has changed, in the last thirty years, are the modes of producing, broadcasting and their roles.
    Saying Radio and Cultures, in the days of digital technology, means evoking and asserting our values : freedom, sharing, imagination and the power to change things.

    But it also means playing with all the opportunities of the changing web, to repeat the necessity to cultivate an art of inventive listening, interested in the others and in the world.
