La Asociación de Ciencias Ambientales (ACA), fundada en 1997, está compuesta por estudiantes, científicos, técnicos y en general por profesionales provenientes de diferentes disciplinas, preocupados y ocupados en el estudio y la resolución de los problemas ambientales, bajo diferentes enfoques y con vocación interdisciplinar.
¿Por qué surge ACA?
Como bien es sabido, los problemas ambientales surgen de la compleja y difícil relación entre los seres humanos y sus sociedades con su entorno. La complejidad de esta relación, la globalidad de sus procesos y el delicado equilibrio subyacente provoca, frecuentemente, numerosos errores tanto en su análisis como en su planificación, evaluación y gestión, al ser afrontado de manera fragmentada.
Esta fragmentación se erige como una de las más básicas causas de los problemas ambientales y la superación de la misma constituye uno de los mayores retos a afrontar. De igual manera, la difusión del conocimiento entre científicos, técnicos y gestores, así como la dispersión existente entre los diferentes actores de la sociedad a la hora de actuar ante los problemas ambientales, son cuestiones de primer orden en las que es necesario avanzar.
