First imported in 1948, the VW Beetle made having one’s own car affordable for ever more sections of the population. Dreams turned into reality. People’s horizons expanded – and they enjoyed life to the full. Our founder Walter Haefner predicted all this as well as the rapid increase in mobility requirements as economic growth took off in the 1960s and 1970s. His visionary strength enabled him to make AMAG the biggest automotive company in Switzerland.

AMAG is now a comprehensive mobility provider with the best-positioned network in the country. We sell high-grade vehicles, keep them operational in all situations and enable people to fulfil their mobility dreams by means of our own leasing company and other services. Our focus is the customer, always and everywhere. Motorists and corporate customers trust AMAG because – with our combination of quality, expertise and excellent service – we consistently provide them with pleasant surprises.

The AMAG Group is committed to operating as a climate-neutral company by 2025. AMAG also has the ambition to achieve a climate-neutral footprint in accordance with Net Zero by 2040. It is committed to the 1.5 degree target of the Paris Climate Agreement and to the Science Based Targets.
