RESACOOP is one of the 12 multi-stakeholder regional networks existing on French territory. With the status of a public interest group, its role is to advise and support organizations in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region engaged in international cooperation and solidarity actions with the countries of Africa, South America, Asia and Eastern Europe. Initiated in 1994 by the regional prefecture and the Rhône-Alpes regional council, following legal recognition of the international action of local authorities, RESACOOP became GIP in 2005 then expanded to the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in 2017, by merger with the CERAPCOOP network.

Doté d’un statut de groupement d’intérêt public, son rôle est de conseiller et accompagner les organisations de la région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes engagées dans des actions de coopération et de solidarité internationale avec les pays d’Afrique, d’Amérique du Sud, d’Asie et d’Europe de l’Est. Centre de ressources et « service public » de la coopération internationale, RESACOOP offre un espace de rencontres et de dialogue, ouvert à tous les habitants d’Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, en s’appuyant sur une équipe de 9 salariés à Lyon et Clermont-Ferrand.
