L’Institut Michel-Eugène Chevreul est une Fédération de Recherche CNRS (FR2638) qui structure le secteur Chimie-Matériaux en Hauts-de-France, en accroît la visibilité et qui coordonne les actions communes qui y sont développées tant au plan régional que national.
L'institut regroupe ainsi 4 unités de recherche :

Enfin, il porte le projet CPER 2021-2027 CHEMACT (CHimie Et MAtériaux à la Croisée des Transitions) qui propose le développement de solutions durables pour l’élaboration et le déploiement de nouveaux matériaux à fonctionnalités ciblées, performants et recyclables. Le projet s’appuie sur un continuum de recherches amont/aval, intrinsèquement interdisciplinaires à fort potentiel d’innovation tant en matière de synthèse, de caractérisation avancée, d’amélioration des performances de dispositifs déjà existants, que de développement de nouveaux procédés d’élaboration et de valorisation. Les solutions proposées permettront d’accompagner les transitions en cours et à venir pour répondre aux défis majeurs et complexes de notre société.
