Des Grands Jardins, Paysages & Architectures - depuis 1999

DGJ Paysages and DGJ Architektur are experienced offices for garden and landscape & architecture . They were founded in 1999 as Drexler Guinand Jauslin Architects in Frankfurt, Zürich and Rotterdam. DGJ have realised more than 25 public and private buildings, gardens and landscape projects mainly in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, several of which received awards. DGJ has won prizes in more than 30 competitions achieving first place 12 times.

Since 2011 one focus has been on landscape architecture operating from Zurich and Marly-le-Roi near Versailles under the firm “DGJ Paysages” while “DGJ Architektur” in Frankfurt is specialised in sustainable architecture and energy efficient building.

Good architecture and landscape design affords a multilayered, culturally anchored perspective and a strategic, flexible design methodology. With sustainable thinking in design, DGJ works through all scales from the architectural composition of the landscape to the fabrication of details with strategic foresight and dedicated craftsmanship.

Landscape design becomes a concept of creating a spatial connection between human beings and the environment. Our outdoors design projects are particularly valuable as they engage the public and different users groups in the planning process. We collaborate on a great variety of tasks in teams with other specialists, notably architects and engineers.

The fields of sustainable architecture and landscape in design theory are the foci of our teaching and research. Landscape architect Daniel Jauslin defended his PhD at TU Delft 2019 and currently teaches as international director of ENSP Versailles & Marseille while Hans Drexler completed his design based doctorate at TU Berlin 2020 and teaches as University Professor for Building Construction and Design at Siegen.
