For over 125 years, AustroCel Hallein has been a pioneer in industrial transformation in Austria. In our modern biorefinery, we produce not only pulp for the textile industry but also utilize every resource from sawmill wood waste to create sustainable bioenergy products.

Our bioenergy solutions, such as bioethanol, biogas, and the new hydrogel granulate, actively contribute to the circular economy and environmental protection. Bioethanol and biogas provide renewable energy for up to 20,000 households in Hallein and the surrounding area, supporting regional energy supply. Our innovative hydrogel granulate, developed specifically for agriculture, helps combat soil dryness by storing water and releasing it when needed – a vital resource for sustainable land management.
