[Automatic translation follows] Our vineyard is composed of vines planted in 2000-2002 around the estate, and old plots located in the surrounding communes. All located on hillsides, flourishing, and bathed in the sun of the garrigues.
Thus, the old vines of Grenache, Carignan, Aramon, Cinsault, Alicante Bouschet, Merlot and Syrah are assembled with younger vines planted with Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Franc, and Grenache blanc, Grenache gris, Viognier, Roussanne and Vermentino for the white wines.
This wide variety of Mediterranean and Atlantic grape varieties, young vines and sometimes very old (one of our vines was planted in 1934!), trained in double Cordon de Royat or Gobelet (the old-fashioned way!) offers us a very wide range of blends, again reinforcing the aromatic complexity of our wines.
Each plot is worked as closely as possible: short pruning, yield control by grassing the soil for some, disbudding or green harvesting for others, ploughing with inter-vines, organic amendments... right up to the harvests done by hand, in crates, with selection of the best bunches.
To date, the Sauzet estate produces its grapes on 21 hectares, after planting 2 hectares and converting 3 hectares of old vines to organic.
New plantation projects should increase this area to around 30 hectares in 2023. Our estate is now known and recognized and sales are increasing every year, in France and abroad. We produce an average of 420 hectoliters of wine per year, the equivalent of 55,000 bottles. All of our production is sold in bottles: no bulk or BIB.
The average yield of our vines is low: 26 hectoliters per hectare. Compared to the 90h/H that are authorized! Quality comes from controlling yields in the vineyard: less fruit, but tastier! For better juices!

Notre vignoble se compose de vignes plantées en 2000-2002 autour du domaine, et de parcelles anciennes se situant dans les communes alentour. Toutes situées en coteaux, épanouies, et baignées du soleil des garrigues.
Ainsi, les vieilles vignes de Grenache, Carignan, Aramon, Cinsault , Alicante Bouschet, Merlot et Syrah s’assemblent à des vignes plus jeunes plantées de Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-Sauvignon et Franc, et Grenache blanc , Grenache gris, Viognier, Roussanne et Vermentino pour les vins blancs.
Cette grande variété de cépages méditerranéens et atlantiques, vignes jeunes et parfois très anciennes (une de nos vignes a été plantée en 1934 !), menées en Cordon de Royat double ou en Gobelet (à l’ancienne !) nous offre une palette très large d’assemblages, là encore renforçant la complexité aromatique de nos vins.
Chaque parcelle est travaillée au plus juste : des tailles courtes, une maîtrise des rendements par enherbement des sols pour certaines, ébourgeonnage ou vendanges en vert pour d’autres, labours avec interceps, amendements organiques... jusqu’aux vendanges faites à la main, en cagettes, avec sélection des meilleures grappes.
À ce jour, le domaine de Sauzet produit ses raisins sur 21 hectares, après plantation de 2 hectares et la conversion en bio de 3 hectares de vieilles vignes.
De nouveaux projets de plantations devraient porter cette surface à environ 30 hectares en 2023. Notre domaine est maintenant connu et reconnu et les ventes progressent chaque année, en France comme à l’export. Nous produisons en moyenne 420 hectolitres de vin par an, soit l’équivalent de 55 000 bouteilles. La totalité de notre production est commercialisée en bouteilles : pas de vrac ni de BIB.
