Different aspects have an impact on the heat exchangers such as process conditions ( temperatures, flowrates and fluid/flow characteristics, etc.) but also weather conditions and mechanical conditions can have a strong influence.
Often the impact of those parameters on the performance is not explicitly monitored and analyzed. In this way significant opportunities for improvement are missed.
