    Marine Renewables Canada is the country’s wave, tidal, river current, and offshore wind association representing technology and project developers, utilities, researchers, and the energy and marine supply chain. Since 2004, the organization has worked to identify and foster collaborative opportunities, provide information and education, and represent the best interests of the sector to advance the development of a marine renewable energy industry in Canada that can be globally competitive.

    Our Vision is for a Canadian sustainable marine renewable energy sector, serving domestic and export power needs and providing projects, technologies and expertise in a global market. Our focus is across Canada to support the marine energy developments in Canada’s rivers, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

    Marine Renewables Canada works to:
    • Develop an identity for the sector at home and abroad
    • Provide communications and referrals within the sector
    • Develop and promoting a supply chain
    • Create a focus on innovation opportunities that can result in technology, techniques and services with potential world markets
    • Recruit research, development and demonstration capacity needed by the sector
    • Develop competitive intelligence and appropriate strategic relationships
    • Organize sector networking and information sharing opportunities
    • Organize international marketing, missions and trade events
