Enterprise Europe Network constituye uno de los instrumentos principales de apoyo a las Pyme europeas en sus esfuerzos de innovación y de competitividad. Agrupa a más de 500 organizaciones empresariales constituidas en aproximadamente 70 consorcios que cubren la totalidad del territorio de la Unión Europea. La nueva red tiene como objetivos la integración de los servicios que anteriormente prestaban los EICs y los IRCs en una única organización, mayor proximidad geográfica, incremento de la calidad y profesionalidad de los servicios y simplificación de los trámites administrativos.
En concreto, Enterprise Europe Network ofrece los siguientes servicios:
- Asistencia a las empresas para su internacionalización.
- Servicios relacionados con la Innovación de nuevos productos.
- Acceso a proyectos y financiación de la UE.
- Proporcionar información a la Comisión Europea. La red actuará como una red de doble sentido entre las empresas y la Comisión, transmitiendo información y puntos de vista en ambas direcciones.
