The history of Mobicoop dates back to 2011, when the Covoiturage-libre.fr association was created, offering a carpooling service without commission, without advertising and free for users whose personal data remains protected. With nearly 150,000 users making more than 100,000 carpools per year, it has become a key player in carpooling. Seven years later, in November 2018, the Covoiturage-libre.fr association became the Mobicoop cooperative.

    True to the original values ​​of carpooling, the association has made strong commitments to ensure that the platform remains a common good. However, these commitments can only survive if the platform is financially independent, that is to say if the community participates in its financing through its donations.

    Five strong and clear commitments
    We are committed to:
    1/ Protecting user data so that it is only used for the smooth running of carpooling;
    2/ Not taking any remuneration on the journeys made;
    3/ Respecting the cooperative operation;
    4/ Contributing to the protection of the environment;
    5/ Promoting social ties between carpoolers.
    A cooperative as a model
    We are a cooperative, the cooperative of shared mobility. Users of the platform are not required to be members of the cooperative but they are invited to do so. This allows them to participate in the general meetings which are the heart of the cooperative's governance. The aim now is to bring together 20,000 cooperative members to build the sustainable mobility of tomorrow together!

    Moins de Bagnoles plus de Rossignols ! L’histoire de Mobicoop remonte à 2011, lorsqu’est créée l’association Covoiturage-libre.fr proposant un service de covoiturage sans commission, sans publicité et gratuit pour les usagers dont les données personnelles restent protégées. Avec près de 150 000 utilisateurs effectuant plus de 100 000 covoiturages par an, elle est devenue un acteur incontournable du covoiturage. Sept ans plus tard, en novembre 2018, l’association Covoiturage-libre.fr est devenue la coopérative Mobicoop.
    Fidèle aux valeurs originelles du covoiturage, l'association a pris des engagements forts pour que la plateforme reste un bien commun. Or ces engagements ne peuvent vivre que si la plateforme est indépendante financièrement, c'est-à-dire si la communauté participe à son financement via ses dons.

    Cinq engagements forts et clairs
    Nous nous engageons à :
    1/ Protéger les données des utilisateurs pour que celles-ci soient seulement consacrées au bon déroulement du covoiturage ;
    2/ Ne prendre aucune rémunération sur les trajets réalisés ;
    3/ Respecter le fonctionnement coopératif ;
    4/ Contribuer à la protection de l’environnement ;
    5/ Favoriser le lien social entre les covoitureurs.
    Une coopérative comme modèle
    Nous sommes une coopérative, la coopérative de la mobilité partagée. Les utilisateurs de la plate-forme ne sont pas obligés d'être membres de la coopérative mais ils y sont invités. Cela leur permet de participer aux assemblées générales qui sont le coeur de la gouvernance de la coopérative. Il s’agit maintenant de réunir 20 000 membres coopérateurs pour construire ensemble la mobilité durable de demain !
