The School of Business and Management was established in 1995 in the La Fayette business park in Besançon (25). It quickly achieved success by offering work-study programs in the National Education system accessible after the Baccalaureate, allowing it to become the reference school for tertiary BTS work-study programs.

In 2007, the ECM wanted to become a regional reference and to do so it acquired a second establishment located on the Techn'hom in Belfort. In 2018, a third training site was developed in partnership with the Cnam Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in the city of Dijon.
In 2021, the ECM Mulhouse was born, preparing in alternation for the Bachelors and Msc of the ICD Business School, ESAM and IGS-RH. ECM Strasbourg, located at the Espace européen de l'entreprise in Schiltigheim, will open in 2022. The ECM Nancy campus will strengthen the School's presence in the Grand-Est region for the 2023 academic year.
Today, the six schools respond to more than 4,000 requests from students wishing to join these qualifying courses and to more than 5,000 companies looking for apprentices or continuing education for executives and managers.

L’École de Commerce et Management a été implantée en 1995 dans le parc d’entreprises La Fayette à Besançon (25). Elle a connu un succès rapide en proposant des parcours en alternance de l’Éducation Nationale accessibles après le Bac, lui permettant de devenir l’école de référence des BTS tertiaires en alternance.
La gouvernance de l’école s’est ensuite rapprochée en 2004 du Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Grand établissement public, placé sous la tutelle du ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur. Elle a ainsi, grâce à son partenariat avec le Cnam Bourgogne Franche-Comté, offert pour la première fois en région la possibilité d’accéder en École de Commerce à des diplômes d’État Licence et Master dans le cadre de l’alternance. L'ECM a su s’entourer d’autres partenaires aux diplômes prestigieux comme les écoles IGS-RH et ESAM, proposant des Titres Bac+4 / Bac+5.
En 2007, l’ECM a souhaité devenir une référence régionale et s’est dotée pour ce faire d’un second établissement implanté sur le Techn’hom de Belfort. En 2018, un troisième site de formation a été développé en partenariat avec le Cnam Bourgogne-Franche-Comté au sein de la ville de Dijon.
