Canada's industry association for decentralised energy (DE) - onsite power production, consumption and distribution.

Decentralised Energy Canada (DEC) is a registered, national, non-profit industry association that supports energy innovation and technology commercialisation in the decentralised energy sector.

Decentralised energy (DE) is defined as heating, cooling or electrical energy that is produced, managed and/or stored at the point of consumption. As we strive to increase the efficient use of resources, DE technologies are ever more attractive to residential, commercial and industrial energy end-users.

We were established as the New Energy Resources Alliance (NewERA) founded in 2002 by the Alberta Research Council through an industry-led initiative to accelerate the growth of decentralised energy markets.

We are the most well-connected energy association in Canada.
