Mark Cuban Foundation is the private non-profit foundation of Dallas Mavericks proprietor Mark Cuban. The Foundation leads programs including the AI Bootcamps Initiative and The Fallen Patriot Fund.
Mark Cuban Foundation (MCF) has taught free “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Bootcamps” to underserved high school students in the US since 2019. The goal of the AI Bootcamps Initiative is to increase general understanding and awareness of AI among young people while simultaneously providing extra- curricular opportunities to students with limited options for technology education. In Mark Cuban’s words: “I wanted to start by educating the kids who will be making the decisions about how AI will impact society. Not everyone needs to be an AI expert, but it’s important for everyone to understand the basics to be an informed citizen.”
The Fallen Patriot Fund of The Mark Cuban Foundation was established to help families of U.S. military personnel who were killed or seriously injured during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Financial resources are vital to enhancing the sustainability of the family unit who has suffered a loss because their loved one sacrificed him/herself for freedom.
Within that group, grant recipients will be selected in accordance with criteria established by The Mark Cuban Foundation. All proceeds will be disbursed.
