La Fundación Signo es una entidad privada sin ánimo de lucro, creada en 1999 con la finalidad de fomentar proyectos de gestión sanitaria y promover, desde una óptica multidisciplinaria, la cultura de la innovación y la eficiencia en los servicios sanitarios. Nuestro lema es "Valor en salud".
Tiene su origen en el proyecto Signo impulsado por el Ministerio de Sanidad y Consumo en 1992 con el objetivo de desarrollar metodologías de contabilidad analítica y coste por proceso en el sistema sanitario, y su embrión se gestó en las Jornadas de Hellín en el año 1992, a las que asistieron mas de 700 profesionales y en las que se debatió sobre cómo intentar calcular el coste de las prestaciones sanitarias.
Anualmente convoca y otorga los Premios Profesor Barea y organiza una jornada de trabajo en El Escorial. Cada dos años celebra sus Jornadas de Evaluación y Gestión en Salud. En 2022 tendrá lugar la XVI edición de las mismas.
