Since 1992, Initiative Sarthe aims to support and finance project leaders on Sarthois territory, by detecting and promoting any initiative aimed at boosting the local fabric and creating or maintaining employment by creating, taking over or developing a business.

Depuis 1992, Initiative Sarthe a pour objet d’accompagner et de financer les porteurs de projet sur le territoire sarthois, en décelant et favorisant toute initiative visant à dynamiser le tissu local et à créer ou maintenir de l’emploi par la création, la reprise ou le développement d’une entreprise.
Elle s’appuie sur une équipe de 5 permanents, sur l’implication de nombreux bénévoles et adhérents (chefs d’entreprises en activité, experts, banquiers, institutionnels,...), et travaille en partenariat étroit avec les communautés de communes du département, la Région des Pays de la Loire et l’Etat.
Initiative Sarthe articule sa mission autour de trois axes :
- Informer et guider les porteurs de projet durant leur préparation, permettre l’accès à des aides et dispositifs complémentaires (Prime Création, Parcours Entrepreneur,...)
- Consolider leurs fonds propres par l’octroi de prêts d’honneur (de 2 000 € à 50 000 €),
- Accompagner l’entrepreneur post-création/reprise en lui proposant un parrainage par un chef d’entreprise bénévole pendant 2 ans, un suivi personnalisé pendant la durée du remboursement du prêt d’honneur, des mises en réseau pour faciliter la pérennisation de son entreprise et éviter l’isolement du chef d’entreprise. Depuis 2017, Initiative Sarthe gère également le Fonds Mutualisé Départemental de Revitalisation à la demande de la Préfecture de la Sarthe.
