The Society of the Innovation District's mission is to cultivate a unique innovation ecosystem where collaboration and experimentation between the academic, entrepreneurial and citizen communities promote positive outcomes for society. Its international caliber experimental territory of 3.5 km2 in the heart of Montreal is delimited by René Lévesque Boulevard and the Lachine Canal, from north to south, and from McGill Street to Atwater Avenue, from the east. West. The QI is supported by the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, the City of Montreal, four universities (École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), McGill University, Concordia University and Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)), and nearly around twenty private partners.

Son territoire d’expérimentation de calibre international de 3,5 km2 au cœur de Montréal est délimité par le boulevard René Lévesque et le canal de Lachine, du nord au sud, et de la rue McGill à l’avenue Atwater, de l’est à l’ouest. Le QI est soutenu par le gouvernement du Canada, le gouvernement du Québec, la Ville de Montréal, quatre universités (École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Université McGill, Université Concordia et Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)), et près d'une vingtaine de partenaires privés.
