    Association pour l'animation mathématique

    Animath is a non-profit founded in 1988. It aims to develop the inclination of young students to like mathematics. Animath is a leader working with other entities purchasing the same goal. Together, we create and develop multiple actions on this purpose.

    Each year, thousands of middle and high school students participates in our activities. Our actions are complementary to the school education. We organize workshops, competitions (both national and international), and meetings with researchers. Our actions are sized to local, national and international impact. We have a special focus for socially or geographically disadvantaged students, or girls. They represents too few students in mathematics.

    Animath is based on many volunteers to organize events and manage scientific projects. Professors, researchers, engineers or students, they all volunteer to share their passion for mathematics with the participants.

    Association pour l'animation mathématique

    Animath est une association créée en 1998, dont le but est de favoriser le goût et la pratique des mathématiques chez les jeunes.

    Animath permet chaque année à des milliers de collégien·ne·s et lycéen·ne·s intéressé·e·s par les mathématiques de participer à des activités complémentaires du cadre scolaire : stages, compétitions nationales et internationales prestigieuses, rencontres avec des chercheur·e·s, etc. Ces activités existent à différentes échelles : locale, nationale ou internationale. Une attention particulière est apportée à celles et ceux qui, pour des raisons d’origine sociale ou géographique, ou parce qu’il s’agit de filles, ont tendance à moins s’engager vers les mathématiques, ainsi qu’aux plus jeunes.

    Les actions d’Animath reposent sur un fort engagement bénévole pour organiser les événements et surtout pour encadrer des projets scientifiques. Professeur·e·s, chercheur·e·s, ingénieur·e·s, ou encore étudiant·e·s, ancien·ne·s bénéficiaires des actions de l’association ou non, les nombreux·ses bénévoles de l’association sont uni·e·s par la volonté de partager leur passion avec un large public.

    Animath est agréée par Ministère de l’éducation nationale comme association éducative complémentaire de l’enseignement public, par arrêté du 25 juillet 2016 pour une durée de 5 ans.
