NEF Animation (Nouvelles Ecritures pour le Film d’Animation) est une association professionnelle nationale , créée en 2016 et dédiée à la recherche et à la création pour le film d'animation. C'est un outil dédié à l’écriture et à la recherche créative, un lieu de réflexion sur l’animation en tant qu’art, un lieu de convergence des initiatives et un opérateur de projets.
NEF Animation organise un programme de résidences d’écriture à l'Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud et à Meknès au Maroc, des rencontres professionnelles (Les Chemins de la Création), un festival (Extranimation à Nantes) des masterclasses, des colloques, des journées d’études et des conférences... Elle favorise la publication et la diffusion de textes sur l'animation notamment à travers BLINK BLANK, la revue du film d'animation. Elle accompagne l'émergence de jeunes talents à travers la coopérative SCALAE Productions. En région nantaise, elle anime le consortium NOVELARIUM, fabrique des nouveaux récits.
