Since 1971, within a constantly evolving sector, the French Association of Animated Cinema (AFCA), has acted 360° in favor of animated cinema to promote talents and promote films in all their formats. A link between those who make the works and those who show them, the AFCA is at the crossroads of the sector's challenges and at all stages of the life of a work: writing, production, distribution.
On a national scale, it brings together and supports a network of animation professionals (production companies, schools, unions, image centers, authors, technicians, etc.) and cinematographic cultural action (cinema theaters, media libraries, associations, festivals, speakers, etc.). In particular, it coordinates the Animated Cinema Festival in October and organizes the Rennes Métropole National Animation Film Festival each year in April.

Depuis 1971, au sein d'un secteur en constante évolution l’Association Française du Cinéma d’Animation (AFCA), agit à 360° en faveur du cinéma d'animation pour valoriser les talents et promouvoir les films sous tous leurs formats. Trait d’union entre ceux qui font les œuvres et ceux qui les montrent, l’AFCA est à la croisée des enjeux du secteur et à toutes les étapes de la vie d’une œuvre : écriture, production, diffusion.
A l’échelle nationale, elle fédère et accompagne un réseau de professionnel·les de l’animation (sociétés de production, écoles, syndicats, pôles image, auteurs, techniciens...) et de l’action culturelle cinématographique (salles de cinéma, médiathèques, associations, festivals, intervenant·es...). Elle coordonne notamment la Fête du cinéma d’animation en octobre et organise le Festival national du cinéma d’animation de Rennes Métropole chaque année en avril.
Elle agit aujourd’hui autour de trois pôles d’activités :
