Hello Tomorrow was created in 2011 by a group of individuals convinced that science and technology need to form part of a toolkit of solutions to change our industries, sustain a growing population and help solve global crises. But the traditional model of technology transfer to bring solutions from lab to market, and from idea to impact, could not rise to this challenge. In turn, Hello Tomorrow has built, and now animates, a global ecosystem that facilitates ‘deep tech’ innovation through multiple activities.
Over the course of nine editions, their Global Startup Challenge has received 30,000 applications from 132 countries, partnering with universities and research institutions worldwide to identify deep tech solutions that have real global impact. Hello Tomorrow then uses its unique position to identify and analyze deep tech trends and dynamics. Through their international events, they connect all key players to harness their full potential. Through consulting services in strategy and innovation and customised startups programs, they help companies to understand how deep tech will impact their business, how to stay competitive and launch new solutions.

🏅 Congratulations to Papcup, the Emerging Pioneer winner of the 2025 Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge! 🎉
The Emerging Pioneers track is a brand-new initiative within our Deep Tech Pioneers community, created to highlight exceptional early-stage startups that are still in the research and development phase (TRL 4 or lower) but already show strong scientific or business potential.
Among 10 startups selected from across all 10 Global Challenge tracks, Papcup’s visionary solution earned them the first-ever Emerging Pioneer prize in the history of the Global Challenge. 💫
Papcup is a UK-based startup, developing a handheld device that uses an electrochemical biosensor to detect cancer-causing HPV in menstrual blood, collected non-invasively from sanitary products. Their innovative approach offers a private, at-home solution for cervical health screening, reducing healthcare costs and making cervical cancer prevention more accessible, especially for women in underserved communities and those who avoid traditional screenings.

🌟 Spotlight on the ESA Φ-lab Grand Marathon finalists!
On March 13th, at the Hello Tomorrow Summit, the three incredible finalists of the Grand Marathon, organized by the European Space Agency - ESA Φ-Lab in collaboration with Save the Children Italia, took the Pioneers Stage to pitch their groundbreaking solutions.
A huge thank you to Giuseppe Borghi 🌍🛰️🇪🇺 (Head of Φ-Lab) and CHIARA COCCHIARA (Senior Innovation Officer) for joining us and supporting these visionary companies. It was inspiring to see how Earth Observation is driving real-world impact on climate change and health.
