TVK is a Paris-based international architecture and urban design practice founded by Pierre Alain Trévelo and Antoine Viger-Kohler.
TVK has achieved national recognition notably with the Palmarès des Jeunes Urbanistes in 2005 and the Nouveaux Albums des Jeunes Architectes in 2006, then international with the redevelopment of Place de la République in Paris, Brussels Parkway with the redevelopment of E40 highway or the redevelopment of Lausanne train station square in Switzerland.
Educated in architecture and urbanism mainly in Paris and Harvard, Pierre Alain Trévelo and Antoine Viger-Kohler pursue a theoritical and build work through projects, research and writings.
TVK brings together the two founding members of TOMATO Architectes group that edited the book, "Paris, La Ville du Péripherique" (Paris: The ring road city), published by Le Moniteur in 2003. Since then, the office has continued its editorial activity with the release of "No Limit. Etude prospective de l’insertion urbaine du peripherique de Paris" (No Limit. Prospective Study of Urban Integration of the Paris Ring Road), published by Pavillon de l’Arsenal in 2008 and around self-published editorial projects like the book "Système Ouvert, les nouveaux mondes du Grand Paris" for the Atelier International du Grand Paris or the monographic collection T∀KE.

TVK est un bureau international d’architecture et d’urbanisme créé à Paris en 2003 par Pierre Alain Trévelo et Antoine Viger-Kohler. Formés à Paris et Harvard et impliqués dans l’enseignement depuis l’origine, ils poursuivent ensemble une démarche où théorie et pratique se répondent et s’enrichissent mutuellement. Au travers de projets, de recherches et d’écrits, ils produisent patiemment une œuvre singulière, à la fois théorique et construite. Leur objectif est de s’emparer de la complexité et du caractère paradoxal de la situation terrestre contemporaine, pour contribuer à la rendre habitable et désirable.
Depuis sa création, TVK a acquis une forte réputation, celle de compter parmi les agences françaises les plus reconnues, et celle d’avoir une démarche originale parmi les agences internationales. En effet, TVK construit sa spécificité par la combinaison d’une double approche.
D’un côté, TVK produit une architecture essentielle, dans laquelle l’espace, la géométrie et la construction sont les éléments clés. Les projets sont directs et ancrés à la fois dans la théorie et dans l’histoire de l’architecture. De l’autre, TVK conduit une recherche stratégique sur les grandes thématiques qui conditionnent l’aménagement de la planète. Cette recherche est ouverte, collective et permet d’inclure la complexité et l’instabilité des questionnements les plus actuels.
TVK représente la synthèse de cette double démarche, à la fois essentialiste et ouverte, et ainsi s’engage dans des travaux à toutes les échelles – du mobilier au territoire, de l’édifice à la planète.
