[Automatic translation follows] The Maubuisson forest is the ambition to create a green lung on the outskirts of Paris. With its unprecedented objective of creating a 1,340 hectare forest in the heart of Val-d'Oise, it is the largest forest creation project in France.
The idea was born from the need to breathe new life into the polluted agricultural plain of Maubuisson by transforming it into a natural space, by planting more than a million trees by 2029.
To date, 576,000 plants have already been planted, marking the first stages of an approach which makes it possible to respond to the challenges of preserving biodiversity, combating global warming and improving the quality of life of the twelve million Ile-de-France residents.
This initiative is supported by the SMAPP (Syndicat Mixte pour l'Aménagement de la Plaine de Pierrelaye-Bessancourt), a group of local stakeholders which includes the Île-de-France Region, the Val d'Oise Department, the CAVP and the 7 municipalities.

La forêt de Maubuisson, c'est l'ambition de créer un poumon vert aux portes de Paris. Avec son objectif inédit de création de forêt de 1 340 hectares au cœur du Val-d’Oise, il s'agit du plus grand projet de création de forêt en France.
L’idée est née du besoin de redonner vie à la plaine agricole polluée de Maubuisson en la transformant en un espace naturel, par la plantation de plus d'un million d'arbres d'ici 2029.
À ce jour, déjà 576 000 plants ont été mis en terre, marquant les premières étapes d'une démarche qui permet à la fois de répondre à des enjeux de préservation de la biodiversité, de lutte contre le réchauffement climatique et d’amélioration de la qualité de vie des douze millions de Franciliens.
Cette initiative est portée par le SMAPP (Syndicat Mixte pour l’Aménagement de la Plaine de Pierrelaye-Bessancourt), un groupement d’acteurs locaux qui inclut la Région Île-de-France, le Département du Val d’Oise, la CAVP et les 7 communes.
