South coordination is the national coordination of French NGOs of international solidarity. Founded in 1994 under the status of a 1901 law association, it now brings together more than 182 French NGOs working in international solidarity. A hundred are members via six collectives: Clong-volontariat, CNAJEP, Humanitarian Coordination and Development, CRID, Forim, Initiative Group. NGO members are carrying out humanitarian actions of emergency, development aid, environmental protection, human rights defense to disadvantaged populations, as well as actions to education for citizenship and advocacy.
South coordination ensures a quadruple mission:
- Promotion and defense of the sector
- Strengthening of the professionalization of organizations through advice and training,
- Advocacy on international solidarity with public and private institutions, in France, in Europe and in the world,
- Monitoring and analysis services, and information dissemination.
It takes part in the European-scale activities of Concord, the Confederation of European emergency and development NGOs, and on an international scale, of Forus, which brings together more than 60 national and regional platforms of NGOs.

Coordination SUD est la coordination nationale des ONG françaises de solidarité internationale. Fondée en 1994 sous le statut d’association loi 1901, elle rassemble aujourd’hui plus de 182 ONG françaises travaillant dans la solidarité internationale. Une centaine sont membres via six collectifs : CLONG-Volontariat, Cnajep, Coordination Humanitaire et Développement, Crid, Forim, Groupe Initiatives. Les ONG membres mènent des actions humanitaires d’urgence, d’aide au développement, de protection de l’environnement, de défense des droits humains auprès des populations défavorisées, ainsi que des actions d’éducation à la citoyenneté et de plaidoyer.
Coordination SUD assure une quadruple mission :
- Promotion et défense du secteur
- Renforcement de la professionnalisation des organisations à travers le conseil et la formation,
- Plaidoyer sur la solidarité internationale auprès des institutions publiques et privées, en France, en Europe et dans le monde,
- Services de veille et d’analyse, et de diffusion d’information.
Elle prend part aux activités, à l’échelle européenne, de Concord, la confédération des ONG européennes d’urgence et de développement, et à l’échelle internationale, de Forus, qui rassemble plus de 60 plates-formes nationales et régionales d’ONG.
