La mutation de ces territoires représente un enjeu écologique majeur de densification de la ville et un champ d’investigation pour de nouvelles pratiques urbaines à travers les problématiques de la mobilité, de l’habiter et du paysage.
PALAST a pour ambition de produire des espaces capables d’accueillir des usages déterminés répondant à des programmes précis et des usages indéterminés allant au delà de ces besoins. Produire une architecture sans emphase, où l’économie du projet est au cœur du processus de conception, au service des usages, de la qualité spatiale et de la pérennité des ouvrages.
PALAST fait référence au Palast der Republik de Berlin, construit en 1974 en lieu et place du château des Hohenzollern. Pensé comme une ville dans la ville, le bâtiment abritait une multitude d’usages comme le parlement de la RDA, une salle de spectacle, un bowling, une discothèque, une poste, des restaurants, des associations, et pouvait accueillir de nombreuses manifestations culturelles.
