The VAF aims to facilitate the independent creation of audiovisual work
and to stimulate and support games in Flanders through a
integrated approach. In addition, the VAF offers the Flemish professional
sector the necessary framework.
The VAF not only implements the Flemish film and game policy, but plays it
also plays a role in the preparation of this policy for those involved

Het VAF is een instelling van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap en werkt in
opdracht van de Vlaamse regering. Onder de koepel van het VAF vallen
drie fondsen: het VAF/Filmfonds, het VAF/Mediafonds en het
VAF/Gamefonds.
Wat doen we?
Het VAF vervult meerdere rollen. Als beleidsinstrument van de Vlaamse
Gemeenschap is aandacht voor de volledige culturele en economische
waardeketen, van idee tot beleving, onze kerntaak. Onze pijlers zijn steun
aan creatie, talentontwikkeling, promotie en publiekswerking, steeds met
oog voor thema’s als duurzaamheid en gender & inclusie.
Daarnaast werkt het VAF als een actieve partner mee aan het behouden
en vormgeven van een bloeiende sector. En verder is het VAF ook een
gedreven ambassadeur van de Vlaamse audiovisuele en gamesector in
binnen- en buitenland.
Het VAF heeft tot doel om de onafhankelijke creatie van audiovisueel werk
en games in Vlaanderen te stimuleren en te ondersteunen via een
geïntegreerde aanpak. Daarnaast biedt het VAF de Vlaamse professionele
sector de nodige omkadering.
Het VAF voert het Vlaamse film- en gamebeleid niet enkel uit, maar speelt
ook een rol in de voorbereiding van dit beleid voor de betrokken
voogdijministers. Het VAF doet aan kennisopbouw over de sector, met het
accent op dataverzameling en -analyse.
