Our vision is for the UK to be a global leader in developing & commercialising applications for compound semiconductors

Compound Semiconductor Applications (CSA) Catapult is the UK’s authority on compound semiconductor applications and commercialisation. The Catapult works with start-ups, SMEs, large organisations and academia to de-risk commercialisation, eliminate barriers to market and accelerate compound semiconductor technologies used in transport, future telecoms, energy distribution, quantum and data centres. (CSA) Catapult was established in 2018 by Innovate UK to help the UK become a global leader in compound semiconductors.

We have a world-leading team of experts with the know-how, experience and track record in developing and commercialising compound semiconductor technologies and applications.

We bring compound semiconductor applications to life in three key areas: the road to Net Zero, Future Telecoms and intelligent sensing.

We are a trusted neutral convener, working with large companies, SMEs, and academia. We help de-risk new innovations and act as a neutral convener, bringing innovators, industry and academia together.

CSA Catapult is a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in South Wales with locations in Bristol, the North East and Scotland. We have capabilities in power electronics, advanced packaging, RF & microwave, and photonics.

The next wave of emerging applications will have an enormous impact on our lives. Compound semiconductors will enable a host of new and exciting applications in the electrification of transport, clean energy, defence and security and digital communications markets.
