The Extended Mind conducts studies and applies insights from behavioral science to improve the design of virtual experiences and increase user engagement. We apply UX research to help designers and developers improve their experience offerings based on user experience with existing platforms or through concept testing.

We also evaluate the landscapes in which immersive technology are situated through consumer preferences research, current solutions research, and future applications research.

As an agency, we are particularly interested in the safe and inclusive design of immersive experiences, as well as the ethical integration of XR technologies into society and the prioritization of user safety in data sharing and management.

We work with a wide range of stakeholders from hardware and software developers to policy makers to guide the design and implementation of immersive technologies towards privacy, safety, and inclusion.
