    Hockey India came into existence in May 2009. It was set up with the express intent of restoring Indian hockey to its former glory and majesty. In its role as the National Sporting Federation, Hockey India is the sole body that’s recognised by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Indian Olympic Association and the International Hockey Federation for governing the sport at all levels in the country.
