ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE LICENSING AND LITIGATION ATTORNEYS
Welcome to the company page of SoftwareNegotiation.com, the website of Marcus Harris who is one of the country’s premier enterprise software negotiation, contract drafting, licensing and litigation attorneys.
Focusing especially on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), CRM and similar platforms, he has developed one of the nation’s leading practices devoted to representing clients to recover damages arising out of failed ERP implementation.
Marcus also helps clients ensure that their systems comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) which affects every ERP and CRM vendor whose customers have systems installed in Europe. Under GDPR, if a customer asks that a business erase their name from their records, it must do so quickly. The system also must prove that it is compliant with GDPR even if there hasn’t been a hack or data leak, or face hefty fines.
He also works on copyright, trademark and intellectual property issues for clients including managing global intellectual property portfolios for Fortune 500 companies and does pro bono work for creative artists and individuals filing copyright and trademark applications.
As a partner in the Chicago office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister, a prominent national firm with more than 400 attorneys in 10 offices, Marcus' ERM work is part of the Intellectual Property practice and its Privacy & Data Security group.
